Our VW Beetle sunroof kit was launched in 1993, it was an instant success. Remember, this was way before the internet but word spread through customer satisfaction and appearances at the various summer VW shows. As you can see from the wonderful pictures, be it a daily driver, a Herbie replica or a show winner, owners have fitted our sunroof kit as a cornerstone of their project. The quality speaks for itself.

With over 20 years in production and kits sent all around the globe, its a remarkable product, so fit one too and enjoy your ride.

THE KIT We have a list of 4 popular custom sizes, the sizes stated below are the size of the hole cut into the car, not the finished size..

1.Micro 28 inches long x 27 inches wide hole (71.1cms x 68.5cms) = £280.00

2. Standard 30 inches long by 28 inches wide ((76.2cms x 71cms) = £310.00

2. De-luxe 34 inches long x 28 inches wide hole (86.3cms x 71cms) = £340.00

4. Mega 38 inches long x 30 inches wide hole (96.5cms x 76.2cms) = £370.00

The above prices are for the unlined version of the kit. They comes with all fittings and aluminium framework, black vinyl sunroof cover, 2 locking knobs, studs/fasteners, velcro, template, plus small fittings and fitting instructions. It is totally complete.

What do you mean by lined and unlined kits?

We sell all size sunroofs in 2 forms, either lined or unlined. Unlined versions are black only
The unlined sunroof is the cheapest option if money is tight. It is made from all the same weather resistant materials and will fit the same as the de-luxe job but does not have the interior finish of the headlining under the sunroof cover, you will see the 3 ribs that are sewn into the cover but more importantly you will see the sealant used to seal the stitching, it is not attractive, we always recommend the lined version if you can afford it. You cannot successfully retro fit a liner into an unlined kit as some of the parts have to be altered prior to sewing them in and that becomes impossible once put together.

The lined sunroof is the same job as the standard version but has a light cream (off-white) headliner sewn onto the underside of the sunroof cover. (Black is an option, please tell us if you would prefer black as otherwise we will fit the Light cream). This gives the sunroof a much nicer factory type finish and is in my opinion the best and only option. We spent several weeks agonising over this bit as it was important to get the best finish and it needed to last the lifetime of the roof, as it hangs upside down all its life. Quite a difficult job, all in all, but we came up with something that has stood the test of time. Add on £70 to the above prices if you want this option.

Can't decide on the lined or unlined version. In my opinion only order the unlined version if you are really strapped for cash. If you have a nice car or one that is undergoing restoration then you must have the Lined version as it will not look the same.

We use various courier services to get our goods to you.
Prices throughout Mainland Britain are £22 , certain remote areas e.g. Highlands and Islands will carry a surcharge, please contact us.
Prices to Europe and the rest of the world vary, we use UPS to get the goods to you, please contact us for an up to date shipping quote. Prices are generally from £30-£60

How do I cut out my hole?
Easy, we supply a paper template to the correct size, you stick it to the roof with some tape, mark its position, then cut around it with an angle grinder or nibbler.

Can I have a different outer colour?
Yes, we sell them in 9 other colours of vinyl. You can choose either White, Beige, Putty, Grey, Tan, Blue, Red, Wine and Green. This option will cost you £40 extra. see colour chart in Gallery tab above.

I need a different sized sunroof to the 4 you have listed, do you make "one off" specials?

All our sunroofs are custom made, so we don't keep stock, but have 4 different size sunroofs with modest size/price breaks to make your choice easy. If you don't find the size that's suitable we can make a "one off" for you at extra cost proving it is roughly within our guide lines, call us to discuss but expect to pay around 20% extra.

What tools will I need and is it easy?

The job typically takes about 4-5 hours to install. They have been made with the d.i.y. person in mind and many customers fit the sunroofs themselves with the minimum of fuss. You will need some simple hand tools to fit the sunroof as most of the fitting involves drilling and riveting. I would recommend an electric power drill, hand pop rivet gun, small hacksaw, small angle grinder and maybe a small bench vice. If you are not keen on the job yourself or haven't the time, give me a call, I may know of someone in your area who can do the job for you.

I want one, how can I pay?

UK and Overseas customers: Debit and Credit cards taken over the telephone or (cheques in the post, UK only). You can also pay by Paypal or bank transfer.

Want a sunroof but don't have the time or energy to fit yourself,

then checkout the list below

Here is a list of fitters, some have fitted several kits, others just the one, use this list as a reference point and checkout the people for yourselves as I have not seen their finish work and cannot therefore recommend any of them personally. But it is a useful place to start if you need someone to fit the kit for you.

Its a mixture of locations, all around the country, also if you know of anybody who would like to be added to this list, please let me know and I will consider it.
