Let me introduce myself, my name is Rick Paris and I am the owner of PARIS BEETLES. The business started in 1988 but my love affair with Volkswagens began in the 1970's with the "HERBIE" films, which seemed to cement the little cars place in history. Although I was too young to do anything about it at the time, later in the 1980's I bought my first VW Beetle and began customising it and with a background in mechanics and engineering, I started the business several years later.

Word of mouth was key back in pre internet days and once people saw what I could create, they asked me to do the same to their Volkswagen Beetles too and the rest is history,

We started off converting the Volkswagen Beetle saloon into soft top cabriolets and people loved them. We then manufactured a D.I.Y. kit for the VW Beetle, for customers to fit themselves and it proved very popular and easy to fit. Since then we have added further products. The VW Beetle Vinyl sunroof kit was born and added to our range, they proved very popular. Then about 18 years ago we began to see a real up swell of interest in the Volkswagen T2, the standard bus and the Campervan.

Until then we had not had much to do with the VW T2. The Splitscreen Bus was already the darling of the enthusiasts but slowly the VW Bay window bus was getting a toe hold in peoples hearts too. Customers who owned VW Beetles were also starting to buy the VW Bus. They were beginning to ask us if we could adapt out smaller VW Beetle sunroofs for the VW Bus and also the Campervan. So I bought my first bus and took a look. After several prototypes and testing we had another winner and the sunroof for the VW T2 BUS has been our most successful product. It has been sold to happy owners in dozens of countries and in all climates too.

Many thousands have bee sold, the last time I counted it was well over 5,000. In the early days we fitted them too but quickly the demand for the VINYL D.I.Y. sunroof kit meant that we had to stop the fitting. More recently as owners of the high top Camper wondered what to do with their crumbling fibreglass high-tops, they quickly realised that we could supply them with an easily fittable custom sized vinyl sunroof kit that would fill in the old hole. It solved the problem and gave them the Samba look they had always wanted too.

All products must be paid for in advance as all our products are custom made for each and every customer. We do not keep stock of any item we sell/manufacture as we have such a vast choice of colours, cloths, sizes and interior specifications. As a custom made item we cannot except cancellation of an order once it has been started, cloth cut or materials ordered. This applies to all everything listed on this website, our entire our sunroof kit collection including Beetles and buses plus the convertible kit. Please make sure what you are ordering is the correct size/spec for your needs, as we are working to your measurements and instructions and as such returns are not accepted as all products are custom made. It is very important that the customer understands that "THEY" are responsible for measuring and ordering the correct size or product suitable for fitting "their" vehicle. We can offer advice but the customer is solely responsible and as such returns are not accepted.
